Let Us Help You Breathe Easier!

Pulmonary Rehabilitation, also called pulmonary rehab or PR, is a broad program that helps improve the well-being of people who have chronic (ongoing) breathing problems.

PR involves a long-term commitment from the patient and a team of healthcare providers. T he PR ream may include doctors, nurses, and specialists such as respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, dieticians or nutritionists, and psychologists or social workers.

When you start PR, your rehab team will create a plan that is tailored to your abilities and needs. you will likely attend your PR program weekly. Your team will expect you to follow your plan, including exercises and lifestyle changes at home.

PR has many benefits. It can improve your ability to function and your quality of life. The program also may help relieve your breathing problems. Even if you have advanced lung disease, you can still benefit from PR.

Most pulmonary rehabilitation programs last a few months. At the end of your program, you will undergo tests and answer questions. Some of these tests, such as exercise tests, will be the same ones you had at the start of your program.

Pulmonary Rehabilitation Will Help You:

  • Improve your quality of life

  • Decrease the symptoms of your disease or condition
  • Help you manage anxiety and depression
