Duties of Administrative Physical Therapy Rehab Techs.
Administrative PTRTs are essential to the efficient operation of an office. They make sure physicians see the right patients at the right times, ensure patients remember their appointments, ensure insurance forms are filled out correctly, and often perform any task that does not involve medical treatments or procedures.
Some tasks of a medical administrative assistant might include:
- Updating and creating Patient Records
- Answering Phones
- Collecting Patient Payments
- Billing
- Bookkeeping
- Greeting Patients
- Filling Out and Submitting Insurance Forms
- Scheduling appointments with the facility physicians
- Sorting Mail
- Scheduling Laboratory Testing
- Ordering supplies
- Collection of Copay and payments
- Keeping physical therapy department clean and tidy
- Computer operations
- Filing
- Opening up and closing the facilities daily operations
- Facility Tests and Drills
- Custodian of Medical Records.
The facility will give orientation and detail instruction to all administrative job duties. The administrative medical assistant will work directly with clinical personal and the facility administrator. Interaction with the facility billing and medical management company will be a daily function.
